Artist Statement
My paintings are a visual representation of my inner passion for nature and my love for the Dalmatian coast and Mediterranean Sea. They capture a snapshot of nature usually combined with abstract elements. I begin with a blank canvas, some heavy body acrylic paint, plaster, 3D finishes and the compelling need to create.
I am often inspired by a memory of my past, and daily energies and interactions with my friends, family and my own garden.
I would describe the process as a marathon, not a sprint that usually lasts anywhere from a week to several months and involves adding, taking away, working, and re-working many layers of paint and mixed media.
Artist BiographyĀ
Ever since I was a child I have always had a passion for art. In the last 25 years, I have been experimenting with different mediums, such as acrylic, water colours, fabrics and plaster. I have created over 100 unique paintings that express the beauty of nature. I have been a member of the Port Moody Art Association where I exhibited my artwork in the 2014 Kaboom Artist Profile.
After many years of interior decorating and painting, I began teaching an art and craft program for school-aged children as a form of channeling my passion for art and desire to help others discover its versatility and power.
Education
Completion of Interior Decorator Certificate – Colour.
Developed detailed plans and 30 models shoving arrangement of walls. Experienced in painting landscapes, still lives, textured walls, murals, faux finishing, colour consulting and solo exhibitionist.
